As an individual, I enjoy creating solid and trustworthy connections with those around me. This translates to my therapeutic style to truly create a connected collaboration with my clients. Within this relationship, I am motivated to advocate for my clients to the best of my ability. While I will work hard to support my clients, I also expect my clients to put in work to see progress and change. I keep things honest and professional in a safe environment.
About Me . . .
My Emphasis . . .
I am passionate about relationships whether that is in couples, premarital, or marriage therapy. This passion developed long before coming into the mental health field and continues to be one of the biggest emphasis in my work and research. I focus on many aspects that come into play in these relationships, whether that is cultural social contexts, gender roles, sexual behaviors, or religious/spiritual commitments.
I also emphasize working with the Asian and Pacific Islander communities. As someone who identifies as an Asian American, specifically a Filipino American, I can understand the multifaceted issues and concerns that can come into play throughout childhood to adulthood. I enjoy working with individuals or with families, especially when addressing multi-generational issues and family dynamics.
My Values . . .
As a therapist, I value and strive to work from a collaborative stance with the utmost respect and compassion for my clients. I value clients who are willing to be honest, open, vulnerable and have the motivation to seek change. Therapy takes time and work, as it is not an overnight process. I am committed to putting in the time and I invite my clients to do the same.
