Who I Work With
My Professional Affiliations . . .
California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT)
About Me . . .
My journey to becoming a therapist had many twists and turns. It was a horse named “Dude” that helped change the trajectory of my life and profession. It was because of this horse and the challenges I was facing in my life, that I made significant changes to my life and career. It was my own self-reflection while working with this horse that made me deal with what was going on in the inside of me. My outside world seemed really great, but I was a tornado on the inside because of constant comparison and not feeling like I was enough and judging myself with that critical unforgiving inner voice. Through change and life experience I have learned to have authentic in the moment relationships, with no judgment. This is the atmosphere I aim to create with clients. I learned that making small insignificant changes can make the biggest impact for change in our lives.
My Emphasis . . .
My Values . . .
My life and clinical experiences have allowed me the opportunity to work with many cultures, age groups, and clinical concerns. My passion is helping those who have experienced trauma or complex trauma in life and those who suffer with addiction.
Trauma and addiction do not just affect the individual, but it can affect the couple and family relationships. My goal is to help restore relationships - whether it is your relationship with yourself, as a couple, or the family unit.
In life, we all have our own journey. For some it may be easy and for others not so easy. When the waves of life affect us as we are walking through a painful or dark season, we might be tempted to lose hope. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I aim to be there to encourage you in those moments. Let me help you find hope, healing, and restoration.
As a Christian, I believe that hope should be a part of everyone’s life! Hope helps to reduce feelings of helplessness, increase happiness, and improves quality of life. I believe healing is brought about through the art of listening compassionately, empathizing, and building a caring relationship with a fellow human being. Finally, I believe that restoration can happen when a person is able to obtain healing and feels hope.
My goal is to come along side my clients and help them navigate forward toward what a life filled with hope, healing, restoration can look like. My goal is also to empower each of them by giving them tools and help facilitate emotional healing so they can become the best possible version of who God created them to be.
