Who I Work  With

About Me . . .

I am a Christian therapist; I was born and raised in Colombia/South America. I completed my bachelor’s in psychology at Javeriana University of Colombia and my master’s in Marital and Family Therapy (MFT) with an emphasis in Medical Family Therapy (MedFT) at Loma Linda University. I am very passionate about serving others and helping them find emotional healing in their lives. I have experience in various social and community programs in which I offered psycho-social support to people with different socioeconomic status from various countries such as Colombia, Mexico and United States.

My Emphasis . . .

With the aim of offering a more comprehensive therapy process, I keep a systemic-multi-dimensional collaborative emphasis. I take into account the different factors that constitute the reality of my clients, such as cognitive reasoning, relationships, health, spirituality and social context. I integrate techniques from cognitive therapy, emotionally focus therapy, multi-dimensional family therapy, and solution focused therapy, depending on the need and preference of my clients.

My Unique Qualifications . . .

My Values . . .

I am a bilingual psychotherapist who has lived in various countries and, therefore, understands various cultures. I have experience in working with a wide variety of clients such as individuals, couples, families and communities. I have experience working with trauma, grief, physical illness such as cancer and obesity, addiction, and parenting and relationship issues.

I value commitment to my clients because I aim to meet their therapy needs. I value empathy because I align what I see with what my clients see in order to experience their reality and understand their situation. I value collaboration because I walk with my clients through their own process, and encourage them to give their input and to be very active in their process. I value flexibility because I accommodate each client with their different needs and schedules. I value patience because I persevere in difficult cases that require constant work. I value kindness because I see each one of my clients as a very special being who deserves the best attention and respect, and I treat them as such. I value honesty because I give my client the most genuine and professional input.

Multidimensional family therapy  (MDFT)
