Who I Work With
My Professional Affiliations . . .
American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT)
California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT)
About Me . . .
I believe that each person’s story is important, and each person has the power to re-write their story. In my practice as a therapist, I will provide a safe space for clients to tell their story. Together, we will develop coping skills, explore different intervention strategies and identify resources as you begin your journey to finding and living the best version of yourself. I have learnt that although therapy involves making oneself vulnerable, therapy is not an event but a process which takes time and commitment.
My Emphasis . . .
I am passionate about working with adolescents, adults, families, couples impacted by substance use addictions, and clients who are living with anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, adjustment and trauma just to name a few.
While I work collaboratively to assist families, couples, and individuals in overcoming their presenting concerns, my goal is to be supportive in the process of change in each client’s life. This may involve discussing lived events and emotions that has been contributing to one’s discomforts. I plan to foster an environment where hope and change is possible.
My Unique Qualifications . . .
In addition to my Marriage and Family Therapy training, I am also a certified substance use counselor. This training allows me to work with individuals, families and couples who are seeking freedom from the hold that addiction has on their lives. I have three years’ experience working in an in-patient setting helping client connects with their authentic self and understanding the role addiction plays in their lives.
My Values . . .
I strive each day to remain grounded in my spirituality which assist me in the development of a strong therapeutic relationship with all my clients. I seek to create an atmosphere of respect, empathy compassion and trust which I believe is the hallmark of building a strong alliance with the clients.
“Your present circumstances do not determine where you can go, they merely determine where you start”
